Backend
Python
Python is a high-level, general-purpose programming language known for readable syntax and a vast ecosystem, widely used for web backends, data work, automation, and AI.
What Python is used for
On the backend, Python powers web applications through frameworks like Django, Flask, and FastAPI. Beyond the web it dominates data engineering, scientific computing, and machine learning, with libraries such as pandas, NumPy, and PyTorch, and it is the default language of the modern AI ecosystem, from model training to LLM orchestration tools. Its readability and batteries-included standard library also make it the go-to choice for automation scripts, ETL pipelines, and internal tooling that glue business systems together.
Why it matters for business software
Python lets one language cover the web application, the data pipeline, and the AI features, which simplifies hiring and architecture for companies whose products lean on data. Development speed is high, so ideas reach production quickly, and mature frameworks provide security and admin features out of the box. Raw execution speed is lower than compiled languages, but for typical I/O-bound business workloads this is rarely the bottleneck, and performance-critical paths can be offloaded to optimized libraries or separate services.
How Wizcoder AI Labs uses it
Python is our primary language for AI development: RAG pipelines, agents, and model integrations, alongside Django and FastAPI backends for data-heavy products. It features in much of our custom software development where automation and analytics matter.
